Master of the S. S. Kwang Ying. On February 24th on that morning I was walking along the Prapa near Statue Square. It was about to 12 I was going from West to East. I was looking towards the Queen's monument when I suddenly heard a crack, Then I noticed the ricksha in the act of dropping or being dropped by a coolie. The ricksha was about 20 or 30 feet from the end of the hoarding on the eastern end. I was about 20 feet west of the opening that would be about 60 yards behind the ricksha.
Directly I heard a crack my attention was drawn to the sound. I saw a man behind it and I saw the ricksha dropped and
the coolie running away round the end of the hoarding, and the occupant of the ricksha falling out being shot forward.
I saw a man behind the ricksha about 6 or 8 feet. I did not notice anybody else near the ricksha. The man who was behind
the ricksha ran away. He ran towards the statue. I ran after him. (Plan produced). A plan was produced to me before the Magistrate. I marked certain position on the plan. (Jenkin asks for a clean plan to be shown. Plan according given).
I mark the place where I was when I heard the crack with a cross. I make a circle where the ricksha was. I mark the route Taken by the man.
